Proponent Guide to the Environmental Assessment Review Process Working Draft – May 31, 2005
In British Columbia, the Environmental Assessment Act, and associated regulations and procedures, enables EA to be tailored to the requirements of each project to ensure a focused, efficient, technically sound, timely and cost-effective review process. While specific process elements are custom-designed for each new project, there are standard features of each EA review. The purpose of this Proponent's Guide is to outline these standard features and related activities, responsibilities and timeframes for proponents of major projects in BC, as well as to identify relevant sources of additional or supporting information.
This working draft document will be field-tested and reviewed for a period of 6-8 months before it is finalized and more broadly distributed.
