Environmental assessment is one component of land and resource management in British Columbia. Other components include land use planning, land and resource tenuring, permitting and other review/approval mechanism, and operations management. Each component and its applicable laws, regulations, policies and technical guidelines, is intended to support provincial goals for economic development, environmental protection, and community stability.
The following list of provincial statutes (and associated permits, licences and approvals and guidelines) is not comprehensive
and is provided for information only. Appropriate zoning and other necessary local government approvals are also required for projects to
proceed.
